Roofings Group Partners with Kampala Capital City Authority to Redevelop Kasubi Family Primary School

At Roofings Group, we believe that education is one of the most powerful tools for transforming communities and creating opportunities for future generations. In line with this commitment, we officially commemorated the groundbreaking of the redevelopment of Kasubi Family Primary School, a major Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiative aimed at improving access to quality education and uplifting the livelihoods of families within the Kasubi community.

The redevelopment project, valued at over UGX 3.5 billion, is being undertaken in partnership with Kampala Capital City Authority and represents one of our most impactful education-focused initiatives to date. Once completed, the project will significantly improve the learning environment for hundreds of children while creating a safer, healthier, and more inspiring space for education.

Kasubi Family Primary School, a UPE school under KCCA, currently serves approximately 700 learners from Kasubi and surrounding areas. The initiative to redevelop the school was inspired by Ariana Lalani, daughter of Roofings Group Chairman Sikander Lalani, after she witnessed the school’s condition during a community outreach program where she was empowering women with baking skills to help support their families.

Moved by the urgent need for improvement, Ariana shared her concerns with the Roofings Group leadership, prompting immediate action. Working closely with KCCA, plans were approved for the complete redevelopment of the school into a modern learning facility that meets contemporary health, safety, and educational standards.

The Redevelopment Will Include:

  • Modern, purpose-built classrooms
  • A fully equipped kitchen that will also serve as a community baking and skilling center
  • Dedicated dining facilities
  • Modern staff quarters
  • Improved infrastructure including access roads, gardens, and playgrounds

The project is expected to create a lasting positive impact by providing children with a conducive environment to learn, grow, and thrive academically.

The redevelopment has officially been handed over to China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), who will oversee the execution and delivery of the project.

This initiative reflects Roofings Group’s long-standing commitment to giving back to communities across Uganda through sustainable and impactful programs.

Through our Forever Forestry initiative in Lubowa, we have distributed over 2 million free tree seedlings to communities nationwide, with a target of reaching 10 million trees by 2030. In healthcare, we continue to support public hospitals through donations of medical oxygen cylinders, with more than 150,000 cylinders donated to date, helping save countless lives.

We also continue to champion community-centered programs including sickle cell awareness campaigns and partnerships that provide wheelchairs to people with disabilities.

Under our Forever Education program, we proudly support institutions such as St. Peters Nantabulirwa through infrastructure development, sponsorship opportunities, and access to free clean drinking water.

At Roofings Group, we remain committed to building stronger communities, empowering future generations, and creating a lasting impact through education, sustainability, healthcare, and social development initiatives across Uganda.
